A guided journey
How Adoption With US Works
Adopting a rescue dog is exciting, emotional and sometimes a little nerve wracking. That is completely normal.
At Hope4Paws UK and Spain, we guide you through every step with honesty, care and support. Our process is designed to help you feel confident, informed and ready, while making sure every dog is placed in a safe and loving home.
This is not just about adoption. It is about building something that lasts.
A Thoughtful Process
Built around care
Every step of our adoption process is shaped around one thing.
The welfare of the dog.
We take time to understand both the dog and the adopter, so the match feels right from the start. You will always know what to expect, and you will never be left figuring things out alone.
First steps first. Your journey begins with a simple message.
We usually communicate through WhatsApp, making it easy to share photos, videos and updates while keeping everything personal and responsive.
This is your chance to ask questions, learn more and see if a dog feels like the right fit.
Finding the fit. This is where things start to come together.
We will share everything we know about the dog, including their background, personality and any support they may need. In return, we will learn about your home, routine and lifestyle.
It is not about being perfect. It is about being right for each other.
Moving forward. If everyone feels happy to continue, you will be invited to complete an adoption application form.
This helps us build a clear picture so we can make careful, fair and responsible decisions for every dog.
Safe and ready. We will ask for a short video of your home and garden, followed by a supportive home check.
This is not about judgement. It is simply about making sure your dog arrives somewhere safe and suitable.
At this stage, a £100 reservation fee secures your dog and allows us to begin arranging transport.
Clear and simple. We keep everything transparent.
- Dogs travelling from the EU have no adoption fee
- Dogs based in the UK have a £395 adoption fee
Transport costs are covered by adopters so dogs can travel safely and legally.
Donations are always appreciated, but never expected.
The big day. Once transport is booked, you will be added to a group chat so you can follow your dog’s journey.
Arrival day can feel exciting, emotional and sometimes overwhelming. That is completely normal.
We will be there to guide you through those first important moments.
You’re not alone. Our support continues long after your dog arrives home.
Some dogs settle quickly. Others need time and patience. We are here to offer guidance, reassurance and advice whenever you need it.
Because this is just the beginning.

Honest and supportive
Adoption You Can Trust
We believe the best adoptions are built on honesty, patience and clear communication.
You will always know where you stand.
You will always have support.
And your dog will always come first.

Always here
Lifetime Rescue Back Up
Every dog adopted through Hope4Paws UK and Spain is supported for life. Our Rescue Back Up means we are always here to offer guidance, reassurance and practical help whenever it is needed. If your circumstances ever change and you can no longer keep your dog, it is essential that you contact us straight away so we can step in and find a safe and suitable new home.
We understand that settling in can take time. Rescue dogs often need patience, consistency and support as they adjust to a new environment. We ask adopters to allow a settling period and, where needed, seek appropriate training or behavioural support. You are never expected to navigate this alone, and we are here to help you through any challenges along the way.
In all situations, your dog’s welfare must come first. Dogs adopted through Hope4Paws must not be rehomed, transferred or put to sleep without our involvement. In urgent or exceptional circumstances, we can help arrange emergency boarding where possible, with costs remaining the responsibility of the adopter.
Our priority is simple: to ensure every dog remains safe, supported and protected for life.
Open your home
Foster a Rescue Dog
Fostering changes everything.
By opening your home, you give a dog the chance to feel safe, decompress and begin to understand what home life really means.
And without foster homes, rescue simply couldn’t continue.
One space really can save a life.
Fostering is more than providing a place to stay - it’s helping a dog prepare for their future.
In a home environment, we learn who they really are - their personality, their quirks, what makes them feel safe.
That insight helps us find the right forever home.
As a foster, you’ll:
- Provide daily care and routine
- Create a calm, safe environment
- Support basic boundaries and guidance
- Share updates with the team
You’re never doing this alone - we’re with you every step of the way.
We know fostering can feel like a big step.
That’s why we offer guidance, reassurance and ongoing support whenever you need it.
You’re helping a dog take their first steps toward a better life - and we’ll help you every step of the way too.
